Hi Lewis, we are busily finishing our planting for the 2011 year, but will be organising site visits to new sites in November/December. I have added you to our list as it would be great to come and see your site. Thanks for your interest, Brooke

Hi, I'm part of a community advisory group working with the Waimakariri District Council to develop the new 52 ha Silverstream Reserve in Clarkville/Eyreton (see link above to our Management Plan). I am managing the first two (of many) native restoration projects on riparian margins in the reserve - the first is a 1.5 ha section funded by the DOC Community Conservation Fund; the second is 0.5 ha funded by the Robert C Bruce Trust. The work has been undertaken by local voluteers, Conservation Volunteers, Catchment Care, and some contract labour funded by WDC and ECan. Unfortunately we are desparately short of finances. The WDC budget is extremely limited and we don't have charitable status to apply for private funding for planting projects. WDC are loathe to set up an incorporated society for the group, as they perceive this to be too risky for them. They have, however, suggested that we approach institutions such as yourselves to act as 'umbrella sponsors' for our applications. Is this something that you might consider supporting, in the name of conservation? Cheers, David.

Hello. we are interested in taking part in the greendot program. We have already planted a lot of natives on our property and would like to continue doing so in our back paddock. We are 3km from Te Waihora in the Greenpark/Motukarara area on a certified organic property and always looking to increase biodiversity and encourage native birds. We already get a lot of birds from the lake and hope to get bellbirds and Tui at some point! Many thanks for your work. Hope to hear from you soon, Karen.

Kia ora koutou

this sounds like such an exciting project. I would like to be involved. The green dot project would fit into my section here in Whitecliffs. My section is adjacent to a 'paper road' and i have plans to plant it in community type food gardens and native plants. I would be grateful if you could give me some advice.

I have sent another email from another address so i hope this doesnt add confusion. There is none as i am passionate about native flora and have been very aware of the lack of native flora for a long long time. I live in whitecliffs which is 'lovely' asthetically but i felt the lack of native flora very keenly. I believe in your project and would like to be involved in anyway i can.

Thanking you

I have a small-green-dot, established in Prebbleton at 5 Birchs Road with some 30
native trees,shrubs and hebes; all on 1/4 acre.This small-green-dot attracts a wide
variety of bird life including greywarbler, bell bird, finche of all-sorts along with
thrush, sparrow and blackbird. The site is well sheltered from the elements.

I am responding due to the mail-drop regarding the Plant-Out in September and that my little forest is here - I'm sure there are many others scattered about.

You are quite welcome to inspect and suggest improvements if it is of any interest to you.

Hi I recently sent you an email about two of you ladies coming to speak to Pegasus U3A Ggroup on Mon 5 Sept. Brooke Turner suggested this as she was unable to come to us herself. I don't know if the message I sent got through but here's hoping this time. We are keen to hear from you. My phone is 384 6090, evenings best time.
Thanks Neil

Hi Peter. Thanks for your email and interest in the greendot project. We are gearing up for a plantout weekend on the 10th and 11th of September and would welcome you along. I have added you to our list and will make contact in October, to come out and chat about potential greendots in your area.
